As part of our Around The World Fun Day with Dunstable Town Council on Saturday 18 September, we will be hosting a nature trail around town, ending at the Quadrant.
Dennis, a violent storm, blew over a huge elder tree which dammed the flooded but usually peaceful river Wey in Surrey last summer. Then the pandemic swept across the world to isolate the spot along with the author who lives there.
This wonderful book shows the changes that took place on the river and why we must help to preserve our beautiful planet. The story includes a pair of geese that made use of the damn by nesting there, and how Alice and her mate are threatened by a fox trying to steal their eggs. There’s also a very special performance by a beautiful swan.
To follow the trail, find the images and you’ll have the chance to meet the author between 2 – 4pm at The Quadrant Shopping Centre and buy a signed copy of Dennis to Alice to read the whole story.
If you find a QR code – like the one shown in the picture below, simply point your phone camera at it and open the link that appears on your screen to enjoy one of the many videos in the book.
